Former teacher Aidine O’Reilly (B.A., H.Dip, M.Ed – Masters in Education) founded the company in 2000 on the back of her ‘Masters in Education’ creation, which became ‘The Coca-Cola Form and Fusion Awards’. This programme grew to include 12,000 participants & 13,000 audience, responsible for and recognition in the Government White Paper as the reason for the 22% increase in students choosing Art & Design as a Career between 2000 & 2008. Under Aidine’s direction, Real Nation has evolved to become an award-winning specialist Behavioural Change agency currently employing 50 staff across four departments Education / Experiential / Events / Design.
Aidine’s primary role is twofold: Strategy and quality control on educational programmes and as the Artistic Director of all our Events. Aidine’s knowledge of the educational landscape is unparalleled and under her guidance, the Real Nation educational team has grown to include 30 staff (9 of whom are former teachers), Educational Resource Manager, Head of Education and Educational Strategist and a wider Teaching Panel. This dept is responsible for managing educational projects and events in the areas of; Health / Environment/ Business & Technology/ The Arts, and has reached over 7.8million teachers and students in the past 17 years. As a former ‘Art & Design’ teacher, Aidine also gets to work creatively with the event team to visualise each event at its aesthetic optimum. The look and feel of all our events are very important to us and our clients, so we strive to embed the wow factor on each event regardless of budget.
In her role as Head of Education within Real Nation, Ruth manages a growing team of 30 staff in the project management of 27 schools programmes and events, ensuring the educational integrity and operational success of all programmes with the Department.
Ruth has seen continued development in her roles with Real Nation and has an influence on all educational programmes implemented and managed by Real Nation. Ruth has previously worked with Volunteer Ireland, on the European General Assembly of Volunteering, their national volunteering awards campaign and coordinating the national volunteer programme for Failte Ireland’s ‘The Gathering’ campaign in 2013.
Luke Calvert joined the Real Nation team in the spring of 2017 as a Client Engagement Director. His background is in the Financial Services Industry working on enhancing internal relationships and partnerships within Blue-chip companies in the City of London. A successful Business owner in his right, he set up a successful insurance brokerage in 2015, of which he remains a Non-Exec Director.
Luke’s role in Real Nation is to ensure client satisfaction on all our projects, to assess and maintain standards across all our work and to maximise our offering for our clients. He is currently working on our portfolio of Heineken Clients (Heineken, Heineken Light, Desperados, Orchard Thieves, Murphy’s, Coors Light and many more) as well as using his keen eye for detail to put a shine on our tender submissions.
Claire Byrne is our resident expert in all things Green. In addition to her BSc Hons in Environmental Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management, and Certificates in Green Business Management, Marketing & Social Media, Claire has many years of environmental and political campaign management under her belt. Having worked as personal advisor to Eamon Ryan, former Green Party TD and Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, she will now be using this experience in her own new role as Dublin City Councillor.
As Head of Environment & Sustainability Programmes, specialising in environmental, political and IT education, Claire brings passion and extensive understanding of research and policy development in the areas of energy, water, waste, transport and climate change to the Real Nation team. She is responsible for many of our educational behaviour change programmes, working with both public and private sector clients.
Coming from the exotic lands of South America, Tad hopes to bring a little of his Brazilian latin-design-love to Real Nation and all its clients. With a background and a degree in Marketing and Advertising, Tad worked his way up as a self-taught designer in newspapers, ad agencies, IT and web development companies for more than 12 years. His role in Real Nation is to ensure that all that comes out of his big screen is up to the best design industry standards and is here to facilitate a smooth experience for every client.
Despite having a shy and reserved personality, Tad is also an actor and an aspiring filmmaker. So, if you ever see a big flock of silver hair around a film set, bring him a coffee and say ‘Hi’.
In his role as Head of Operations, Graham works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything works seamlessly for our staff and clients. Since joining Real Nation in early 2016, he has quickly established himself as a popular member of staff with his upbeat, can-do attitude. As a business graduate of DIT Aungier St, with more than 10 years experience working in business operations, he is passionate about business and the many changes it goes through, from day to day management to planning for the future and exciting new ventures. Graham has also been instrumental in getting Real Nation ahead of the curve by implementing best standards of practice in areas such as Data Protection and Garda Vetting. When he isn’t overseeing the day to day running of the company, he can be found literally running in marathons, obstacle courses and competing marathon sprint kayaking challenges.
With a background in market research, psychology and student activism, Lydia joined the team through our Education Department in 2011. Before long, her attention to detail and love of meticulous filing saw her quickly ascend the ranks and move to front of house as our Office Manager. When she’s not welcoming clients, handling supplier queries or running fire drills, Lydia is regular addition to our Events Team and has been known to help out with a promotion or two as well. You can see why she’s affectionately become known as our ‘little lynch-pin’! In her spare time, she can be found doing photo shoots and fashion shows as vintage model, so she brings a little retro-glamour to the office.
Lynn is the Human Resources Coordinator at Real Nation, having completed her (Hons) B.Sc. in Business & Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology, specialising in Human Resources in 2014. Lynn went on to complete a (Hons) M.Sc. in Strategic Management, also specialising in Human Resources, in 2015.
Lynn began working for Real Nation in 2012 as a part time Experiential Brand Ambassador and commenced working full time as a Project Manager in December of 2015. While acting as a Project Manager, Lynn took on a HR support role with the Head of Operations, before becoming responsible for all HR related aspects of Real Nation in 2017. In her role as Human Resources Coordinator, Lynn is responsible for the overseeing of all Real Nation recruitment requirements, payroll facilitation and the creation and maintenance of staff contracts.
