MusicTown showcases the vast musical talent, heritage and vibrant musical culture that permeates throughout Dublin. Its eclectic, electric programme celebrates all music – from classical to pop, trad to rock, electronic to opera and everything in between. It harnesses the city’s magical sounds and musical insights and amplifies it to a wider audience. Whatever their taste, the festival wants to encourage all Dubliners to experience new genres of music or journey deeper into learning about their preferred music of choice. It will break down barriers so that all genres and audiences are equal. It aims to develop a greater appreciation and understanding of Dublin’s ‘music-makers’ – composers to lyricists, to conductors, singers, musicians and producers. Throughout the twelve-day festival in April 2016, the audience grew to 12,000, from an eclectic programme of 60+ events packed with performances from classical to trad, rock to world percussion, and everything in between. Real Nation were responsible for the general management of the festival which included programming 60+ events city wide, marketing and promotion of the festival & staffing of events.
Real Nation’s design department were responsible for social media promotions and outdoor advertising including light boxes, 12 sheets, pop-up banners and a citywide poster campaign.
